Participation before accumulated miles
The proposed consistency score uses the share of a team’s eligible roster that participates during a scoring period. It does not add everyone’s mileage into one total. This is intended to keep large employers and high-mileage runners from dominating the social category.
An example, not a live leaderboard
If 8 of 10 eligible people participate, the illustrative participation rate is 80%. A team with 40 participants out of 100 would have 40%. Final roster lock dates, minimum team size, qualifying activities, and scoring periods remain undecided. The example is not a published season rule.
Separate reasons to celebrate
First marathon finishes should have their own recognition. Optional timed racing would need a clearly defined course and comparable conditions. Neither should be mixed into a social participation score that is meant to welcome beginners.
Before a season launches
The final rulebook must cover roster changes, open teams, result corrections, privacy, ties, and dispute handling. There is no live leaderboard, season date, prize promise, or enrollment today. Nobody is expected to connect an activity account.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
Will the largest company win?
The proposed social score is a participation percentage rather than total miles. Final roster and eligibility rules are still pending.
Can I compete without coworkers?
An open-team option is planned for independent runners, students, and people whose workplaces do not field a team.
