BAY AREA RUNNING / Community

Good company is the whole point.

Our community expectations: respect people, share public space, welcome different abilities, and leave the sales pitch at work.

Make room for different people

Respect names, pronouns, backgrounds, bodies, and abilities. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and unwanted physical contact are not acceptable. Do not pressure someone to explain personal health information or run beyond their chosen effort.

Respect boundaries

Ask before photographing, posting, or sharing another person’s contact details or progress. Accept a declined invitation. Work conversation is welcome when everyone wants it; unsolicited recruiting, selling, and treating runners as leads undermine the purpose of the group.

Be a considerate trail user

Obey the rules of the place you visit. Keep paths open, respect closures, leave no litter, and give others room. A club name or competitive session does not reserve public space.

Make responsibility visible

Before organized events launch, each listing must identify a responsible lead and a way to raise concerns. There is no staffed reporting channel on this website yet. If someone is in immediate danger, use local emergency services; a website form would not be an emergency response.

LESS SCROLL. MORE STRIDE.
