Make it local
A short waterfront outing can fit before work; a park session can suit runners who prefer a structured effort; a weekend group can support an existing long-run plan. These are different needs, so the SF chapter is built around several formats instead of asking everyone to follow one schedule.
Plan the journey as well as the run
Choose a neighborhood and travel time you can realistically repeat. A crew’s general area is not a meeting point, and Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, and the waterfront are not interchangeable locations. Every future listing must specify its exact public start point.
One region, a shared finish-line goal
The First 100 connects local habits to a bigger mission: helping 100 Bay Area tech workers finish their first marathon. You can remain a casual runner, support a beginner, or work toward your own first finish. Changing chapters to suit your week will not change your place in the community.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
Does this chapter have a regular schedule?
Not yet. The listed crews are proposed formats, and route guides are resources for independent planning.
Can I join more than one local crew?
Yes. There is no exclusive chapter membership. Choose an appropriate pace, format, and location for each outing.
