Start with the format
Social run/walk, a structured faster session, and a long run ask different things of participants. Choose the type of outing before comparing pace numbers. Exact pace bands for our future runs have not been announced.
Know what no-drop means
For our proposed social format, a designated rear leader stays with the final participant and the crew uses agreed regroup points. That arrangement must be confirmed in the event listing. The phrase does not automatically apply to a speed session or every long-run band.
Change the choice when the day changes
A busy week, a return from time away, or simply wanting conversation can make a shorter option more appealing. Your group choice is a practical decision for one day, not a permanent label. Tell the leader before changing a route or leaving early.
Make comparisons useful
If you use minutes per mile or kilometer, confirm the units. Ask whether a listed pace describes moving time or includes stops. A watch average alone does not explain terrain, breaks, or how a group actually stays together.
