A run club outside the org chart

A practical way for coworkers to spend time together, with optional competition and a welcoming place for independent runners.

In planning · No scheduled runs or registration yet

Make participation genuinely optional

A company crew should be something people choose, without pressure from managers or a link to performance at work. Welcome different roles, schedules, and abilities. Do not treat pace or attendance as evidence of someone’s commitment to the team.

Start with the ordinary run

Before inventing a season, identify a public route, a willing lead, a realistic window, and a comfortable social format. Do not assume the employer provides insurance, facilities, permission, or sponsorship. An employee-organized group is not automatically an official company program.

Add friendly rivalry later

The proposed Company Miles Challenge recognizes participation proportion rather than raw mileage, with separate celebration for first finishes and optional racing. Enrollment and final season rules are not live. Independent runners will be able to use an open-team format if the challenge launches.
