BAY AREA RUNNING / Programs

Your first marathon pathway

Start with a sustainable routine. Add local support. Choose your first marathon when the timing and preparation make sense.

In planning · No scheduled runs or registration yet

Build a base before a countdown

The First 100 is a community mission, not a universal 16-week promise. Someone starting from walks needs a different approach from a regular half-marathon runner. Your recent activity, available time, and health shape the next step.

What the community can provide

The planned role of Bay Area Running is companionship: welcoming crews, useful local information, peer encouragement, and eventually a way to celebrate first finishes. We do not currently offer paid coaching, personalized plans, or supervised workouts. A qualified coach can help translate a race goal into an individual plan.

Choose the race separately

Compare official race terrain, cutoff, entry terms, travel, and cost before registering. Entry is purchased from the race organizer, not through this site. Our Golden Gate Bridge Marathon remains in planning; the campaign can recognize a first full-marathon finish at another organized race.
